5.22. Step 22: Model Consolidation - Version 2.22

5.22.1. Model Description

This step consolidates a generic standard version of DYNAMIS-POP - the Version 2.22 - which is also used for the User Guide of the model.

DYNAMIS-POP Version 2.22 runs for three country contexts:

  • Nepal - Start Year 2001
  • Bangladesh - Start Year 2011
  • An imaginary country ABC - Start Year 2000

The User Guide introduces the use of the model by application examples which can be directly replicated using this model version together with the synthetic data provided for testig and training on the project website.

DYNAMIS-POP is an open-source, customizable, modular microsimulation platform for socio-demographic projections portable to most developing countries. DYNAMIS-POP produces detailed population projections on the national and sub-national level including education, first marriage, ethnicity, fertility, child mortality, prenatal care, and immunization. DYNAMIS-POP is based on data readily available for most developing countries and can be extended and adapted to specific needs. This version can be used as a generic template for adapting the model to a new country and/or extending it to new application contexts.

The model consolidation at this step includes minor bug fixes and additional tables for net migration and secondary education.
